Foster The People bring out J.I.D. & Saba for "Pay The Man Remix"

J.I.D. and Saba are two of the game's more underrated lyricists, so fans should be pleased to see them linking up for Foster The People's "Pay The Man Remix." It doesn't take long for Atlanta's J.I.D. to make his presence felt on the smooth instrumental, and the young rapper's flow is impressively fluid. If you're not into Foster The People's original sound, you might not be feeling the chorus on this one, but rest assured that both rappers turn in impressive performances. "I sleep with an eye open like a monocular," raps Saba, "I'm the opposite of a copper with carpal tunnel."

Considering the fact that indie hip-hop collaborations can largely be categorized as hit-or-miss, "Pay The Man Remix" is a solid fusion of genres. As a matter of fact, both J.I.D. and Saba excelled over Foster's instrumental, and it's a shame their verses weren't longer. Were ya'll feeling this? Sound off below.

Quotable Lyrics

I sleep with an eye open like a monocular,
I'm the opposite of a copper with carpal tunnel
Ain't never took a handout, full tunnel vision to it got my plan route
Like a cockroach in an ant farm I'ma stand out
