Irish rapper Rejjie Snow has been steady making an impression, having dropped off his experimental and abstract The Moon & You last year. Today, Snow has come through with the first volume of his new project Dear Annie, which features a concise four tracks. With the full album set to drop on February 16th, Dear Annie Vol. 1 serves as a worthy appetizer to what Rejjie has been cooking. Aside from a notable feature from XXL Freshman Aminé on the vintage romance of Egyptian Luvr, Snow handles this one largely on his own merit, alternating between melodies and bars throughout.

In honor of Snow's European roots, the project even dabbles in some French, like on the smooth jazz of "Desole." Bioshock-esque 'The Rain" is a low-key highlight, with a roaring twenties aesthetic and soulful piano work, while Rejjie does his thing with an ever-growing confidence. If you're looking for something outside the box, give Dear Annie Volume 1 a chance.
