Along with Cardi B and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Don Q is among the recent wave of rappers to come out of the Bronx. On "Hello," he gets a big co-sign from Harlem, via Dipset legend Cam'ron. Both rappers have a proclivity for riding out long rhyme schemes and slick wordplay, making them a complimentary pairing on the record, which appears on Cam's new mixtape The Program.
The track was previewed on Cam's Instagram a little while back, with some speculating that the line "R.I.P. to Mike, but I'm the real Thriller" was a possible shot at Jay-Z, riffing on a line from "Moonlight" that once again may or may not have been directed at Cam. While it's probably been blown out of proportion by fans, Cam makes it clear in the follow-up line that even if his bar is a reference to Hov, he's not in a place where he's looking to stir the pot. "I'm done with that / I ain't beefin' with the family, man," he raps.
