Ever since news broke that Donald Glover would be playing a young Lando Calrissian in the u pcoming Han Solo spin-off film, interest has only grown. Earlier this week, Star Wars kept fans happy by releasing the first photo of the cast (seen above) and and a release date for the film.
Unfortunately no one is in costume in the shot, with the exception of Chewbacca. Alden Ehrenreich (who plays Han Solo), Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson join a nicely mustached Donald Glover in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Glover has been hard at work preparing for the film, even talking to the original Lando, Billy Dee Williams.
The release date for the film was also unveiled at the same time. The as-of-now untitled film is set to release on May 25, 2018. The release date explains why Glover had to push back the next season of Atlanta. He's also going to be voicing Simba in an upcoming Lion King remake, which probably isn't helping his busy schedule
