Lizzo was also nominated for Album of the Year (Special), Song of the Year (“About Damn Time”), Best Pop Solo Performance (“About Damn Time”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (Special). Lizzo also performed "About Damn Time" on stage at the ceremony. While accepting the award for Record of the Year, Lizzo spoke about the impact Prince had on her.

“When we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music,” Lizzo said on stage. “This was a time when positive music wasn’t mainstream at that point. I felt very misunderstood … but I stayed true to myself. Because I wanted to make the world a better place, so I had to be that change to make the world a better place. I’d like to believe that not only can people do good, but we just are good. We are good inherently.” Check out Lizzo's Instagram post with her partner, Myke Wright, below.
