Southside is doing more rapping than producing these days. Last week, he released Hardcore N Hi-Tech, his second Young Sizzle mixtape in six months. He's just cranking 'em out. Thursday afternoon, he released a new collaboration with his 808 Mafia partner Tarentino called "Truth."
Young Sizzle's gruff, straight-ahead delivery tends to pair well with 808 Mafia's atonal trap bangers. Such is the case on "Truth," which amounts to three and half minutes of straight flexing on the opposition. Tarentino has a slightly more swung, "finesse" style than the rest of his 808 Mafia bros (exhibit A: "March Madness"), and he continues his streak of no subpar beats on "Truth."
