One of two new tracks Mick Jenkins dropped this morning.

Mick Jenkins' powerful 2015, punctuated by his excellent Waves LP, gives way to a promising 2016.

This morning he shared a pair of new tracks, "Grenade Theory" and "$3,000 Advice," both apparently coming off a project called Sip!, which he describes as "a collection of shit I've been working on with THEMpeople (featuring theMIND)." The cover features Psyduck holding a glass of water... promising.

"Grenade Theory" features THEMpeople's ethereal synths, effect-laden guitar, a heavily swung drum groove, and Jenkins' always rock-solid presence on the mic. The track defies standard song structure, as theMIND shows up for an extended interlude/verse before Jenkins returns to finish things off.

After "Grenade Theory" be sure to check "$3,000 Advice."

Quotable Lyrics

It's common practice, it's common sense the lack of access
Is a common accent, we want the progress but subtract the practice
We loathe the process and we lack the passion
