Wiz Khalifa's "We Dem Boyz" was a surprise summer hit, so who'd to say Shy Glizzy's "We Them Dudes" can't impact in the same way this year. Teaming up with Atlanta's YFN Lucci, Shy Glizzy's new record is a much more frantic squad anthem, with the hook being delivered with plenty more urgency than Wiz's beautifully lazy, "Hol' Up" refrain.
Glizzy's singular delivery is his greatest appeal, and once again he's used his impossibly nasal voice to great effect, making just about every word and phrase highly quotable. Lucci is a perfect foil, giving a solid baritone melody in the final verse.
