John Legend and Common share "Glory" from the "Selma" soundtrack.

The timing could not be better for "Selma," a film that centers on the Martin Luther King Jr.-led civil rights marches that went down in 1965. Releasing on Christmas, the movie will drop in the wake of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, two unarmed black men killed by police officers. Today, we get to hear John Legend and Common's uplifting contribution to the film's soundtrack, a powerful track called "Glory."

Sharing its name with another movie that tells of an important moment for African Americans, the track features references to civil rights events from the past and present.

Quotable Lyrics

The movement is a rhythm to us
Freedom is like religion to us
Justice is juxtaposition in us
"Justice for all" just ain't specific enough
