Big L and Tupac joined forces for "Deadly Combination" from L's second studio album "The Big Picture."

This past Saturday, on February 15th, marked fifteen years since Big L's death, when he was shot nine times in his native Harlem. The unfortunate death of L saw a talented, lyrical MC of legendary status leave us before his prime. He had released just one LP at the time of his death, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, which would be followed up posthumously with The Big Picture in 2000. Neither albums proved to be chart-toppers, but that should not take away from their importance and their influence on the rap game.

Today we're honoring Big L with our Throwback record for "Deadly Combination", which actually features a posthumous verse from Tupac, one of the earliest. The story goes Pac was supposedly killed hours after he laid down his bars that appear on this verse. "Deadly Combination" landed on L's second studio LP.

Stay tuned for our list of Big L's best lines, arriving later this afternoon.

Quotable Lyrics
Follow me tell me if you feel me
I think niggas is tryin' to kill me
Picturin' pistols, spittin' hollow points 'til they drill me
Keepin' it real and even if I do conceal
My criminal thoughts, preoccupied with keepin' steel
-Tupac

I be that young, pretty, fly, smooth, glorious kid
A Bad Boy, just like Notorious B.I.G
I Roc-a-Fella like Shawn Carter
With more game than Ron Harper
The bomb sparker rapper slash charm robber
While y'all be on the corners bummy and high
I be out buyin the finest shit money can buy
-Big L
