50 Cent on Kanye West's new signee Desiigner: "I'm not sure he's going to be able to make another record."
Desiigner is one of the hottest new names in rap; the 18-year-old Brooklyn rapper signed to G.O.O.D. Music on the strength of his viral sensation "Panda," which was sampled on The Life of Pablo cut "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2." Desiigner's deep yet nimble mumble has been compared to that of Future. 50 Cent questioned the young rapper's ability to stay relevant on DJ Sense The Trendsetter and Sarah ViVan's Shade 45 show #StreetzIzWatchin.
"I'm not sure he's going to be able to make another record because he's only recorded two songs," said 50. "But the one that he did reminded me of Future and now how good is that?"
50 evidently was not a fan of "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2." He backhandedly qualified his statement, saying that he is down with Desiigner if Future is.
"If Future told me he was uncomfortable with it maybe I would be like, 'You did kind of bite that style,'" he said.
50 also took some (more) shots at Meek Mill during the interview... listen to the entire thing below.
