Push to have a permanent celebration of Phife Dawg's legacy.

Over the weekend, founding member of A Tribe Called Quest Jarobi White posted a wish list of things he wanted for the late Phife Dawg. The list included renaming a section of Sayres Ave in Queens, New York, adding his likeness to a mural in St. Albans Park and renaming St. Albans Park to Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor park.

Someone has already taken it upon themselves to get one of these requests in motion, posting a petition to have St. Albans Park in Jamaica, Queens, renamed in honor of the late Queens emcee. It’s already two thirds of the way to its modest goal of 1,000 signatures as of this writing, but with your help we can blow that target out of the water.

Back in the day, Phife Dawg and the rest of A Tribe Called Quest would spend their early years freestyling and hanging out at the park. You can sign the petition right here.
