NBA D-League To Be Renamed The "G-League" Thanks To Gatorade Sponsorship

Gatorade takes over the "G-League."

The NBA's Development League, more commonly known as the "D-League" is set to be renamed the "G-League" beginning in the 2017-18 season, thanks to the league's new multi-year sponsorship deal with Gatorade.

As part of the deal, the "Gatorade League" will feature the Gatorade logo at mid court, on jerseys and on game balls. Additionally, the league has unveiled this new logo:

This marks the first time a U.S. professional sports league has named an entitlement partner.

The soon to be renamed "G-League" is currently made up of 22 teams, but three more teams will be added at the start of the 2017-18 season, bringing the NBA closer to a full 30-team farm system.
