Jay Z's Roc Nation and TIDAL come under legal scrutiny over rights to stream Prince's music.

Prince's estate is reportedly suing Roc Nation for copyright infringement over the streaming rights to Prince's 2015 album HITNRUN Phase One.

According to The Star Tribune, Prince's estate claims that TIDAL was only granted a 90-day period of exclusivity when the company secured streaming rights for the album last year. Prince's estate cites the addition of 15 Prince albums to the TIDAL catalogue as evidence of wrongdoing and added that TIDAL never reached out after Prince passed away in April. In October, they denied reports that Jay Z reached out to make a $40 million offer for Prince's chest of unreleased music.

Roc Nation claims they made "various agreements" with Prince "both oral and written."
