Childish Gambino was booed off stage after a forgettable performance this week at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle, Australia. According to the Newcastle Herald, Gambino's set was set to last more than an hour but he "barely uttered a word for 40 minutes." He spent the bulk of the set sitting at the rear of the stage manning the turntables while members of his Royalty crew rapped for the crowd, doing "most of the heavy lifting."
There was apparently some confusion with the booking and promotion whether the show was going to be a Gambino concert or a Gambino DJ set. At any rate, he cancelled the next night's show in Canberra, stating that the Australian shows "had taken a toll."
