Pretty much every detail of Jay Rock's upcoming album, 90059, has been made available, but so far, the release date has been nowhere to be found. Today, Top Dawg has revealed the strategy behind this choice, revealing that the release date will be determined by the number of pre-orders they get for the album. While he didn't share the numbers he's expecting, the TDE CEO explained that he has targets in place that will unlock the album on specific dates.
"I have realistic goals for #90059 and its preorder. As you/we hit each goal with the purchase of the preorder, the release date will automatically move itself up," he wrote on Instagram.
According to Top Dawg, the LP could drop tomorrow if they get enough orders, so if you're planning on buying the album and haven't done so yet, head to iTunes and you could be a part of getting it out there faster.
