You can always count on Skyzoo to come through with some quality penmanship, a relic of Brooklyn's hip-hop spirit. And while there's much pleasure to be gained in hearing him glide over modern-era boom-bap production, today marks the arrival of the most important song of his career thus far, "A Song For Fathers."

"In a time where black fathers are being ripped from their homes due to the injustices against our people, a song I wrote last summer, before this new wave of mayhem began, has become my most important song to date," reflects Sky, on Twitter. He elaborates on the track on his SoundCloud page, explaining his motivation in crafting the track. "I wanted to make a theme song for fellow dads to celebrate on Father’s Day, as well as every day that we may need to hear some encouragement."

Produced by !llmind, Sky's "Song For Fathers" retains the signature sound you've come to expect from the New York lyricist, who navigates the jazzy production with a clear purpose. As one of the many chapters of his upcoming Milestones EP, it's clear that Skyzoo is gearing up for a highly personal release -- look for the project to drop in full on Friday, June 19th, the beginning of Father's Day Weekend.

QUOTABLE LYRICS

If there was ever a man who was generous, gracious and good
That was my dad, hollow-tipped his way out the hood
Shot through it and showed me how to hop to it
Like never let nobody ever say what you're not doing, unless it's me
Same rule apply to the one that I made
