Along with fellow NWA members Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, Arabian Prince and Ice Cube, MC Ren set the world on fire in 1988 with the classic album Straight Outta Compton. Since collaborating on the D.O.C.'s 2003 track "The Shit," Ren and Cube haven't worked together at all, but that's soon to change. this morning, Ren announced an upcoming remix of his recent track "Rebel Music," set to feature Ice Cube. Following that post, MC Ren went on a seemingly unprovoked rampage, condemning this current era of hip-hop as a time of "bullshit and simple concepts" and suggesting that "#rebelmusic" is the only way out. Check out the pertinent tweets below.
There's no word yet on when the "Rebel Music" remix will be released, but MC Ren says that he "Won't be back on twitter until the remix drops."
