The Alliance Of American Football has had an interesting couple of weeks. With reports that the league can't make payroll, some are wondering about the viability of the league. Now though, the league, as well as co-founder Charlie Ebersol are being sued as Trebel Music CEO Robert Vanech is claiming that he was the one who developed the idea for the league. He alleges that he and Eberson discussed the idea but that Eberson eventually ran off and brought the idea to Bill Polian and Tom Veit who both hold positions with the league.
According to ESPN, the league issued a statement saying: "Mr. Vanech's claim is without merit. There was never any agreement, oral or written, between Mr. Vanech and Mr. Ebersol relating to the Alliance. We remained solely focused on our historic, inaugural season when each weekend over 400 players get an opportunity to showcase their talents and fulfill their dreams of playing professional football."

In an interview with ESPN, Ebersol made it clear that he created the league with Veit after being inspired by a documentary he worked on which profiled WWE's Vince McMahon and the now defunct XFL.
The league most recently got a $250 million investment from Tom Dundon who is the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL.
