NBA teams across the league will officially introduce their new "City Edition" uniforms in early November, but some of the jerseys have already leaked to the public. Last week, we saw the Lakers' pinstriped jerseys in honor of Magic Johnson and a new Timberwolves jersey inspired by Prince's Purple Rain album.
Today, multiple City Edition jerseys have leaked, including a Mardi Gras themed New Orleans Pelicans joint. Additionally, uniforms for the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, OKC Thunder and Golden State Warriors. According to Nike, each of the special edition City Edition uniforms are designed to honor the fans who help define each respective team’s identity.
"The Nike NBA City Edition uniforms represent insights and emotion from the court to the upper deck to the cities’ streets, in pursuit of a unique way to capture each team and its city in a way that respects the past and present of the clubs while also positioning them for the future."
