MJ congratulates LeBron on "another great milestone."

Current and former NBA stars, celebrities and members of the media took to social media Wednesday night to congratulate LeBron James on becoming fourth on the NBA's all-time scoring list, as he surpassed his idol, Michael Jordan.

Magic Johnson, Dwyane Wade, 2 Chainz and Kevin Love all posted congratulatory messages on twitter and instagram, while Cavs Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson shared a video in which they joked about 'Bron being a huge ball hog.

Of course, MJ himself had to issue a congratulations to LeBron after his historic night in Los Angeles, even though you know deep down he wanted to point out that it took him far less games to reach the 32,292 point total.

Jordan released the following statement: “I want to congratulate LeBron on achieving another great milestone during his amazing career.”

LeBron, who wore a special Air Jordan 3 inspired Nike LeBron 16 colorway last night as a nod to His Airness, described the momentous occasion as something that ranks up there with winning an NBA title.

"Of all the stuff I've done in my career, this ranks right up there at the top with winning a championship," James said, per ESPN.

"For a kid from Akron, Ohio, that needed inspiration and needed some type of positive influence, MJ was that guy for me. I watched him from afar, wanted to be like MJ, wanted to shoot fadeaways like MJ, wanted to stick my tongue out on dunks like MJ, wanted to wear my sneakers like MJ. I wanted kids to look up to me at some point like MJ and it's just crazy, to be honest. It's beyond crazy."
