GoldLink is back with another dose of musicality.

It's been a while since we've heard a solo release from GoldLink, with the implication being that the DMV rapper has been putting in work behind-the-scenes. Now, he's back with his new single "Zulu Screams," featuring the talents of British-Nigerian producer Maleek Berry and UK singer Bibi Bourelly. Off the bat, the song is infectiously percussive, breaking from traditional contemporary hip-hop drums in favor of something far more experimental. Dexterous as always, GoldLink rides the beat with an impressive technical prowess, switching up his cadence and flow as the instrumental evolves and blossoms.

"Zulu Screams" opts to move away from the three-verse song structure, instead opting to close on a moment of musicality. Such decisions go a long way in separating GoldLink from the pack, revealing a songwriter unafraid to examine the ever-shifting lines between genre conventions. While details surrounding the upcoming GoldLink album have yet to truly manifest, a press release for "Zulu Screams" points to "much more" yet to come this summer. What do you think of this new GoldLink?

Quotable Lyrics

Right, feelin' like a brand new me
And the entourage where the latest be
And the sun don't shine where the gangstas be
And we Russian roulette to a game of three
