At this point, we wouldn’t be surprised if Game of Thrones killed everybody off in the last season and the showrunners allowed the white walkers to win. Of course, there should be some redemption for characters we watched evolve and progress in the last seven seasons, but who knows. The final season of Game of Thrones has one last chance to shock fans into a catatonic state of emotional depression by ripping away beloved characters and twisting plots in every angle possible.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in the series, has had her ups and downs. In fact, up until this last season, Sansa only had downs. Her story has been filled with abuse and sadness, and it will be entertaining to watch Sansa turn some of the pain she’s endured back on the world. If she survives long enough. Turner recently sat down with Gold Derby to speak about the upcoming season and the path of her character. “I always saw something of a warrior in Sansa that I don’t think other people really saw,” began Turner. “I always had the feeling that she was learning and adapting, and very quickly, and at some point or another it was going to manifest itself somehow, and she manifested it into being a warrior. It felt really satisfying when it happened, and I’m really happy where this storyline for her has ended up.”

As far as the final season goes, Turner says it will be a bloody and emotional ride. “I can tell you that there’s definitely a coming together of people,” she explains. “Everyone is coming together to fight the impending doom. There’s a lot of tension between these little groups, battling for what they think is right. It’s ‘Game of Thrones,’ so it’s going to be bloodier and more death and more emotionally torturous than all the years before!”
