T.O. eyeing a spot in the CFL.

Next month, Terrell Owens will be enshrined at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, but it's clear that he still wants an opportunity to play football at a professional level. In June, Owens lobbied for a spot on the San Francisco 49ers roster, but now it looks like he's shifting his focus to the Canadian Football League.

According to TSN's Dave Naylor, when asked if Owens was serious about playing in the CFL, his agent replied, “Absolutely 100 per cent. He still feels like he has some football years left in him. He just loves the game and wants to get back to playing whether it’s the CFL or NFL.”

Furthermore, ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert reports that Owens has opened a 10-day negotiating window with the Edmonton Eskimos. If T.O. and the Eskimos don't come to terms on a deal in 10 days, he will be released from their negotiation list and will be free to sign with any team.

The 44-year old receiver has not played in the NFL since the 2010 season when he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent the 2011 season in the Indoor Football League and later signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012, but he was released before the season ever got started.

A third-round draft selection of the San Francisco 49ers in 1996, T.O. ranks eighth all time in receptions (1,078), second in receiving yards (15,934) and third in receiving touchdowns (153). He has declined his invite to the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony on August 4th, but his gold jacket will reportedly be mailed to him first thing that morning.
