Super Bowl LII Ring

Eagles ring features a nod to the "Philly Special."

The Philadelphia Eagles continued their months-long Super Bowl LII celebration on Thursday night at a special ceremony that included the unveiling of their championship rings. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, a team meeting was held to decide what the rings should look like and the players made it clear they didn't want to go the "elegant" route, instead opting for a ring with a total of 219 diamonds.

"And all the players jumped forward and said, 'No, no no. The bigger and the bling-ier, the better,'" Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie told reporters on his way into the ring ceremony Thursday night, according to ESPN, "and that's what we did."

The ring is made of pure 10-karat white gold, with a total of 219 diamonds and 17 rare green sapphires. There are 127 diamonds on the bezel alone to represent the combined jersey numbers of the three players who touched the football during the "Philly Special." That includes running back Corey Clement (30), tight end Trey Burton (88) and quarterback Nick Foles (9). "We All We Got, We All We Need" and the word "family" are also featured, as well as an underdog mask that is inscribed inside.

Following the private event at 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said it's finally time to put an end to the celebrations and focus on the upcoming season. "Honestly, after the ring ceremony, to me, we've put that to bed, we've put that to rest, and we move on to 2018," he said.
