The rapper just earned his second platinum single as a lead artist, third in total, with "Love Scars"

Trippie Redd is celebrating the platinum certification of "Love Scars" by challenging his competitors to match his sales. "Love Scars" is now the rapper's second platinum single as a lead artist following the certification of "Dark Knight Dummo" in June. It's also his third overall, with XXXTentacion's "Fuck Love" featuring Trippie hitting 2x platinum.

In a video posted to Instagram, Trippie seemed to address 6ix9ine, a rapper who has previously stated that he's more relevant than Trippie due to his entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and the like. However, Trippie feels platinum records should be the real measure of success.

"Nowadays, I think you got the game fucked up. It's not about what hits Billboard or how many views you've got on a video. It's about copies sold, it's about streams," he said. "No artist that beefs with me or talks down on my name has that many platinum songs. They're all gold. A lot of artists that are in my bracket right now, they've got a lot of gold songs, they don't have platinum songs. Let's flip the script, let's change the game to what's platinum instead of what hits Billboard."

If Trippie is, in fact, talking to 6ix9ine, the claim does check out, as 6ix9ine currently holds only one platinum single with "Gummo," as well as four gold records (Trippie has two of those). However, the success of "FeFe," 6ix9ine's new collaboration with Nicki Minaj which rose to No. 3 on the Billboard charts last week, he should have another platinum record soon enough. Meanwhile, Trippie is dropping his debut album, Life's A Trip, which could carry some more hits, tomorrow.
