The Bush/Cheney era gets a movie.

Dick Cheney was by far the most powerful vice president in American history. Cheney's Halliburton Company is infamous, and was the former VP's prized possession. Halliburton has hundreds of subsidiaries, but its main revenue came from oil and energy. When former president George Bush selected Cheney as his running mate, questions about Cheney's real motives began to come up in interviews. Consequently, the 9/11 tragedy and the illegal war in the Middle East were bawled up into a larger conspiracy regarding oil and money. Now, the story of Cheney is coming to theaters.

Christian Bale plays Cheney in the new film Vice, and a trailer for the flick was released by Annapurna Pictures on Wednesday. The trailer begins with George Bush, played by Sam Rockwell, asking Cheney to join him as a running mate for the presidential election. Cheney responds that the VP is a "mostly symbolic job," and he yearns for more power. Having worked in much more powerful positions in the past, Cheney was not content with just being a side act. After revealing his plan to take over military, energy, and foreign policy, the trailer flashes through several scenes of debauchery. Vice hits theaters on Christmas Day.
