Westbrook needs 16 rebounds tomorrow night to average a triple-double again.

Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star point guard, and reigning NBA MVP, Russell Westbrook has a chance to average a triple-double for the season for the second consecutive year if he can snag 16 rebounds tomorrow night.

Westbrook entered last night's game against the Miami Heat needing a total of 34 rebounds in the last two games of the season in order to achieve the feat - and he went out and pulled down 18 boards. Russ is now averaging 25.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and a league-leading 10.1 assists per game. He'll be on the hunt for 16 rebounds in Wednesday night's regular season finale against the Memphis Grizzlies.

In OKC's playoff-clinching victory over Miami, Westbrook recorded his 25th triple-double of the season with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists. According to NBA.com, Westbrook ranks fourth place on the all-time triple-doubles list with 104, which is just three shy of passing Hall of Famer Jason Kidd for third place. Magic Johnson has 138 triple-doubles to his name and the all-time leader is Oscar Robertson with 181. Robertson is also the only other player to average a triple-double for an entire NBA season, but he only did it once.

The Thunder, 47-34, are currently sitting in the 7th seed out West but they cannot finish in that spot due to a number of tiebreakers. They can climb as high as the fourth seed although they'll need to beat the Grizz AND have Utah beat Golden State tonight AND have Portland beat Utah on Wednesday, according to NewsOK.com.
