Drake came through with his "FOMO" short film on Tuesday night, and it was a trip. The first 20 minutes of the livestream were dedicated to songs from MAID OF HONOUR, as Sexyy Red and Stunna Sandy made some appearances.
However, he eventually transitioned into new music, much to the delight of fans. While he did not drop any official songs or albums last night, we did get some extended snippets. The first few songs he previewed came without any features. That eventually changed as the stream went on.
He has a song coming out with Don Toliver called "Cold Shoulder," which sounds destined to become a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, he collaborated with Toliver again on the remix to Ella Langley's "Choosin Texas."
Lastly, he had another snippet, this time with Yeat on a song that currently remains nameless. It was a loaded display, and one that will have fans begging for the official release for quite some time.
Drake Has New Music On The Way
It remains to be seen what Drake plans to do with all of this new music. Of course, the fans would appreciate it if he just released everything and ripped the band-aid off. However, the artist is a bit more methodical than that.
He understands how to build hype, and leaving fans with these snippets will make them anticipate what's next even more. Overall, Drake has been busy with his craft, and it's clear that he isn't concerned about flooding the market with too much music.
2026 is the year of Drake's resurgence, and this livestream was a victory lap of sorts following the success of ICEMAN. Only time will tell if Drake decides to play Santa and give his fans these new songs before Christmas.
