Drake made some headlines last week as he found himself in Arkansas for an Ella Langley concert. Langley is the voice behind the massive billboard hit "Choosin Texas," and as Drizzy suggests, she has a "goated pen."
The two eventually met backstage, which led to some speculation that perhaps the two would end up collaborating on a song together. After all, Drake is establishing some roots in Texas, which makes a country music crossover that much more inevitable.
Over the weekend, the ICEMAN rapper was at a function where he found himself behind the DJ table. It was here that he began playing what sounds like a remix of "Choosin Texas." However, there is a bit of a twist to this version of the song. Sonically, it sounds like a slowed-down R&B tune, rather than an upbeat country track like the original.
Drake To Link Up With Ella Langley
At this time, it is unknown whether or not this track is actually going to be released. Given the complete change in instrumental, there is a chance that this was simply a personal project for Drake, as opposed to a licensed remix. That said, nothing has been confirmed, so fans will just have to sit tight for more details.
Unfortunately for Drake, the fans in the comments section of Kurrco's post are not feeling this new rendition of the track. "This shit sounds horrible please delete this," one person wrote. "Bro seen her take Janice from number 1 and watch her stay there 19 weeks straight the boy petty asf," said another.
Drake's foray into country music is inevitable. While ICEMAN was a great representation of hip-hop in 2026, it does feel as though the artist is still looking to branch out into other genres. Whether or not a country pivot is well received remains to be seen.
