Lil Wayne's about to put his spin on a Kendrick Lamar banger.

There's an old legend, not unlike the lore surrounding Groundhog Day - if Lil Wayne drops a bar-heavy, return-to-form mixtape a few days before 2018, it will signal the return of lyrical rap in the new year. If, however, Dedication 6 is full of autotune-drenched Weezy, it means we'll be destined for another year of "mumble rap." Either way, Dedication 6 is coming, and it's Christmas Day release is a mere four days away. Ultimately, fans have been cautiously optimistic; this time around, it feels like Wayne has a statement to make, and the thought of hearing the potential GOAT destroying other rapper's beats is certainly an appealing one.

And while many have speculated about which beats Wayne might deem worthy, a sample has surfaced revealing a potential candidate. Lil Wayne recently teased an early release of some D6 music on Instagram, bumping a remix of Kendrick Lamar's "DNA." While we have yet to hear any vocals, fans have already begun salivating at the thought of Wayne going in over the Mike WiLL Made-It instrumental; after all, it's one of the hardest tracks on DAMN., featuring some of Kendrick's best rapping of the year. It does, however, pose a serious question - who is more capable of murdering this one? Kendrick or Lil Wayne?

Check out the brief teaser below, and stay tuned. For all we know, Lil Wayne might very well make good on his promise and drop off some Dedication 6 fire before the day is up.
