I think Casey Veggies and Rockie Fresh make a good combo. They’re both on the come-up,in similar places in their career as well as a sound that’s more indie-hip-hop. I feel like they could be good friends. Maybe they are, and that’s why they dropped this appropriately-titled track, “Energy.” The beat reminds of something, I just can’t put my finger on it. Nintendo? Either way, the two mesh well on this track, we’ll have to see if they have more collabos in store.
Underrated Audio: February 5-11
There are alot of misconceptions about Rich Hil and I’m not going to clear them all up,but I will say that The Weeknd and Rich have been good friends and supporters of each other for awhile. The Weeknd has cited Ricky as an influence, and mentioned him as an artist he always wanted to collaborate with. More than a year ago,the two artists got in the studio together, and now we finally get to hear the result. “Nomads”was featured on Ricky’s free album, SYLDD.The result is dope, emotional, and honest (as is the rest of SYLDD). The production is on the same level. Apparently The Weeknd has the majority of tracks the two recorded together, and is possibly saving them for his own project.
Mike Posner- The A Team (Remix)
Some more mellow music, from singer and songwriter Mike Posner. I was really into Mike Posner for a period of time back in the day, and I have since fallen off, but he certainly knows how to make a catchy joint. He sings and drops some bars over his own pop-infused production.
HNHH's "Underrated Audio" puts you on not-too-mainstream music you might have missed from the past week.
There was not too much I was really fucking with last week that hasn't already received enough attention, so I just found three cuts for this week. I don't really have much to say either. Rockie Fresh and Casey Veggies bring something you can chill too, Rich Hil and The Weeknd have something you can get high too, and Mike Posner..I just threw that one on there for kicks.
