Tony Parker is in "Legacy Mode."

Tony Parker remains committed to his NBA career, whether it's with the San Antonio Spurs or another team on the open market. The veteran point guard may be regarded as a lock for the Hall of Fame when his career is said and done, but that alone won't secure him a contract for next year. In 2018, Parker was relegated to 55 games played, and only 21 as starts. He is the first to admit he uncertain of where his future lies. "It is not yet sure that I'll stay with the Spurs," he said during an interview with RMC Sports. "I am open to all proposals. I would like to make my entire career in San Antonio."

Tony Parker is aware that any loyalty the franchise may feel obliged to act upon, comes second to balancing the books. Parker has almost certainly lost his starting berth to Dejounte Murray. In fact the starting job seemed to be his as of January when the club was experimenting with its backcourt as a consequence of Parker finally showing his age, and dare I say: a more fragile state. Parker will likely be asked to take an hefty pay cut on the $15 million he garnered this season. With all the money he has made in his career, he is more concerned with cementing his legacy in the league. His goal: "I want to stay three more years to do the 20 seasons." Spurs management have not divulged their plans going forward. Their main headache at the moment is retaining Kawhi Leonard's services come July, the issue of Tony Parker falling slightly behind.
