In two months, Terrell Owens will be enshrined at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, but it's clear that he still wants an opportunity to play in the NFL.

The 44-year old former wide receiver has expressed interest in making an NFL comeback for some time now, and recently floated the idea of rejoining the team that drafted him out of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga way back in 1996. Responding to a tweet from San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch, Owens tweeted, "I know Jimmy G is gonna need a big play receiver this year at some point. Let's make it happen. #StayReady #VetMin."

Owens spent eight of his first 15 NFL seasons with the 49ers, but has not played in the NFL since the 2010 season when he recorded 72 receptions for 983 yards and 9 touchdowns as a 37-year old wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals.

San Francisco's top two wideouts at the moment are Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon, along with second-year man Trent Taylor, who had 43 catches as a rookie last season. Additionally, the team drafted two wide receivers this year, including second round selection Dante Pettis out of the University of Washington. And if San Francisco is in fact looking to add a pass catcher before the start of next season, there are several other free agent receivers available, most notably Dez Bryant, Eric Decker and Jeremy Maclin.

That said, who doesn't want to see T.O. back on the field one more time?
