Last week, we asked our site users to vote on their favorite TDE release of 2016. The poll included albums released by Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad and Lance Skiiiwalker respectively. As it turns out, there's another TDE-released album in 2016 that's been a very well-kept secret.
Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith took to twitter today to reveal that the label dropped a sixth album in 2016, although it's been kept tightly under wraps. The TDE CEO revealed that one of two 'John Doe's' he had up on that white board months back (see the Instagram post below if you missed it) is Lance Skiiiwalker, and asked fans to guess who the second John Doe might be. Among the contenders, SiR seems a likely candidate, not only for his musical prowess, but his location-- he dropped an EP, Her, in October of 2016. We'll find out for certain in 2017.
"i dropped 6 albums this yr. John Doe 1 n 2 both dropped. @skiiiwalker was 1 of them. do you know who the other 1 is ? i will reveal in 2017," Tiffith tweeted.
