Jimmy Prime (formerly Jimmy Johnson) shares his seven track "Block Boy" project.
In the past, we've known Toronto's Jimmy Prime as Jimmy Johnson, a prmising young talent from the 6 who's put in work with Eric Dingus, Danny Seth and many more. Today, he announces a name change and shares a new seven track project called Block Boy.
Entirely produced by TrapMoneyBenny (save for a bonus cut by Sango), the project boasts features from Donnie and Jay Whiss. Speaking to The Fader about Block Boy, Prime said:
"I want to illustrate to people I'm having more fun while creating, and that my music is evolving and growing for the better, while also making sure it is going with the vibe of right now, which is summer. Block Boy to me is just more then me being from the hood. No matter where I go in this world, no matter how much money I make, no matter where I am at in my career, society will always consider me a 'block boy'—thats what it's about."
