"He was, without a doubt, the most gifted person I've ever known."

It's been one week since the tragic and unfortunate passing of 26-year-old Mac Miller and everyone that was close to him, met him, and worked with him are still mourning the loss of their friend. Mac has been described as a genuine soul who was always his true self in the studio and outside of it. His legacy will always be remembered and Rostrum Records founder Benjy Grinberg (who signed Mac when he was 18-years-old) has shared a touching tribute with Billboard remembering his life and career.

"The night after Mac died, I had a dream that I was at his wedding," Benjy wrote. "We were all celebrating with him and dancing around the room. To wake up to the harsh reality that Mac was still gone was very difficult, but I also felt fortunate to have another moment with him, if only in my sleep."

Benjy further described Mac as not being "your typical music star," he "was the guy you grew up with or maybe he was you in your own coming of age struggles and celebrations."

He added: "And damn, was that man talented. He was, without a doubt, the most gifted person I've ever known. He was an intricate wordsmith, played every instrument and produced incredible music. He could perform his ass off. He even made a jazz EP on a whim. He had a million ideas per day."

The better portion of Benjy's tribute continues to highlight exceptional examples of how sincere and chill Mac was, describing a time they just went on a walk in New York to buy Kitty Litter.

"Mac changed my life and I will miss him terribly. Thankfully, we have so much to remember him by; the music, the memories, the laughter, the smile. The gifts he shared with the world will live forever," he ended his letter. "Mac, I hope to see you in my dreams again soon. I love you."
