The North Carolina rapper announced the news at the 2016 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival.

Rapsody has all eyes on her when she appeared on Kendrick Lamar's "Complexion (A Zulu Love)," from his acclaimed album, To Pimp A Butterfly. Since that scene-stealing appearance, it seemed like only a matter of time before a major label scooped her up, and it seems Jay Z's Roc Nation have won the rapper over.

The North Carolina emcee reportedly made the announcement while on stage at the 2016 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, which is being live-streamed by Jay Z's own Tidal. Since she dropped the big news, 9th Wonder, who runs Jamla, the indie label Rapsody was previously signed to, has confirmed the signing, as have other members of the label including Young Guru. From their tweets, it seems that Rapsody will remain on Jamla despite her paperwork with Roc Nation (it is possible it is strictly a management situation, or that Jamla has their own deal worked out with Roc). We will update with details of the signing when they become available.

Congrats to Rapsody! View 9th Wonder and Rapsody's own posts below.
