Four years after we got his debut studio album, dancehall mainstay Popcaan is finally returning with his sophomore full-length offering Forever. As a proper preview of the forthcoming project, Poppy has come through with a new single in the form of the addictive “Body So Good.”
The new track boasts all the elements that have made him a greater crossover success as opposed to his contemporaries in the space as he delivers on an easygoing and more relaxed dancehall take, transferrable into all markets. Currently, the Unruly honcho and Mixpak signee is prepping to embark on a tour run that takes up most of June and July before taking a break ahead of an October performance in the Dominican Republic. Notably, Popcaan will travel out of the Caribbean and Latin America to the UK, Canada, and the Netherlands but not the States.
You’ll recall that last year as he and the rest of his Unruly crew prepared themselves for his stateside debut at Red Bull’s bashment-inspired festival, Culture Clash in Atlanta, the Jamaican superstar was denied entry into the country at the last minute. So, American fans will still have to wait on any physical arrival of Popcaan. But for the time being, try and get lost in his latest.
