Experimentation in Bay Area came into fruition well before Young L rewrote the book on Hyphy production. Nowadays P-Lo of the HBK movement is quietly upholding the tradition. Producers like P-Lo have the uncanny ability to flip found materials (i.e the sound of a coin dropping on the ground) and fleshing it out into a full scale blammer of a beat. On PRIME, P-Lo spares himself the self-admonition or the roadside billboard bearing his name. As always the music does all the talking, not the spectacle attached to it.
He even channels Drake singing voice on "Nirvana," because at the end of the day he'll escape any criticism over his vocals because he's a producer first and foremost, at least that's the read on him.
