Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe met up with Nardwuar at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The quirky interviewer showered Lowe with all kinds of gifts including Hip Hop Family Tree comics, a zine about the history of New Zealand rock, The Courtneys records and a The 7A3 record.
Ina room at Apple Music House, they delved into the origins of New Zealand hip hop and Zane Lowe's own musical career. Nardwuar brought all kinds of 90s tapes and vinyls of the scene's most influential artists. They also talked about how Lowe started his hosting career at MTV in New Zealand. The interview showed off Lowe's deep knowledge of the history of hip hop abroad and in the US.
