Mac Miller's legacy is going strong.

MusiCares will be receiving a $500,000 donation from The Mac Miller Fund (started by Mac's family) that will launch The Mac Miller Legacy Fund to aid young adults who are struggling with substance abuse, The Recording Academy stated in a press release.

"These grants celebrate Malcolm’s life and legacy by funding two respected organizations that provide opportunities for young people to realize their talents and potential. It’s critically important to our family to fund a safety net for artists and musicians who are struggling with substance addiction. No life should be cut short for lack of expert help," Mac's family shared.

MusiCare is a safe place for musicians, "offering confidential preventative, recovery and emergency programs to address financial, medical and personal health issues." The fund was announced last night in Los Angeles during a special tribute to Mac by Vince Staples, at the annual MusiCares Concert for Recovery. The fund is specifically "dedicated to helping members of the music community age 27 and under who are facing addiction."

"Mac Miller was among the brightest young talents to emerge from Pittsburgh. These grants exemplify brilliant strategy by his family to directly address the issues that affected Miller during his lifetime, while also improving quality of life for other young artists," Pittsburgh Foundation President and CEO Maxwell King stated.

Continue to rest in power, Mac.
