Method Man and Black Thought drop relentless bars on Sway In The Morning.

Don't let anybody tell you different. The cypher is far from dead, and as long as legendary lyricists like Method Man and Black Thought continue to partake in the artform, we're golden. The duo recently hit up Sway In The Morning to promote their upcoming HBO series The Deuce, which also stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Despite the fact that Method Man and Black Thought are acting in the show, that doesn't mean they can't still get down on the mic. In fact, it seems as if age hasn't dulled their lyrical prowess - not in the slightest.

"I might have to read my shit cause big Thought in here," says Meth, busting out his celly for a little refresher. But don't get it twisted - just because Meth is reading off the phone, doesn't mean he's not spitting some fire. Once J.I.D.'s "Never" instrumental kicks in, the Wu-Tang vet is in fine form, coming through with plenty of dope lines and that signature Meth flow. And let's be honest, if you're reading this, you already know what Black Thought can do on the mic. There's a reason why he's widely considered one of the best lyricists in hip-hop lore, and there isn't an emcee in the game who doesn't respect what Black Thought can bring to the table.

After each rapper spits a verse apiece, Meth seems revitalized, throwing J.I.D. a serious co-sign in the process. "Keep that beat on! That's J.I.D, he's the man," says Meth, before diving into the zone with a crazy verse. The second he's done, Black Thought slides in effortlessly, continuing where Meth left off and then some. The whole session is particularly epic, and even Elijah Wood (who happens to be in attendance at 3:04) seems like he can't believe what he's witnessing.

Hip-hop heads, do yourself a favor and catch this cypher immediately.
