The Internet's Matt Martians announces his solo debut with the release of a new track.

You may know Matt Martians through his work with Syd Bennett (and eventually a full band) as The Internet, or perhaps his early material with The Jet Age Of Tomorrow. Either way, like Syd, Matt will be releasing his proper solo debut this year, and he's announced the project alongside a new single. "Diamond In Da Ruff" is the first release from The Drum Chord Theory, which is set to arrive on January 27, 2017.

The jazzy psych jam finds Matt collaborating with Internet band member Steve Lacy, and the album will see contributions from Syd, Tyler, The Creator, Kari Faux, and more. According to Matt, the album began as the follow-up to Ego Death, but soon grew into something else entirely. "What started as the next internet album soon took a turn into so really wild shit that turn into this album," he wrote on Twitter.

Quotable Lyrics:

They'll try to take your love away from me
I found a diamond in the rough
I found you out of nowhere
They act like don't see you there
