Could Rick Ross buy Wayne out of his contract?

Lil Wayne has been struggling with his Cash Money contract for years now. With still no release date in site for his long-awaited Carter V album, and "Fuck Cash Money" declarations at his recent concert, it seems that the New Orleans rapper is losing hope, so much so, that his recent tweets suggest he has considered quitting music.

"I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I'm dun," Weezy wrote Friday night, adding, "ain't lookin for sympathy, just serenity."

While he did not explicitly name his label or former father figure and Cash Money founder, Birdman, the message seems clear. The tweets inspired fans to think up alternative routes for Wayne, with one bringing up the possibility of Rick Ross swooping in to buy Wayne out of his contract. A little while later, Ross replied to the user with the message "Get Birdman on the phone." It's not clear how plausible an outcome this could be, especially given the rocky relationship between Rozay and Bird recently, but with Wayne seemingly running out of options, it could be worth a shot.

A little while later, Wayne had some reassuring words for fans afraid he was hanging it up. "I'm good y'all don't trip," he tweeted.
