Two young rappers who have generated a lot of buzz in 2017 may be teaming up for a new single in the near future.
In a new video that he recently tweeted out, teenage phenom Matt Ox was seen rhyming over a beat in a studio alongside Lil Uzi Vert. The latter wasn't doing much more than showing off some of his iced-out bling for the camera, but the mere presence of the more senior Philly native has hip-hop fans excited about the possibilities that come with this potential collab. Though no official word has been released from the PR camps of either rapper just yet, if they are in fact linking up for a studio cut, they seem to have more than a little chemistry, which should only raise the profiles of both Ox and Uzi to new heights. The younger of the two, known primarily for his track "Overwhelming," Ox recently signed a deal with Warner Bros. His videos have raked in tens of millions spins across all streaming platforms, paving the way for him to seek out bigger collaboration opportunities.
For his part, Lil Uzi Vert is coming off an even stronger year with his music, releasing "XO Tour Llif3" and Luv Is Rage 2 in 2017, both to the rabid enthusiasm of a growing fan base. Combining his talents with those of Ox could result in an almost instant viral hit.
