Jay-Z's new album could (indirectly) be your financial wake-up call.

Jay-Z's latest album, 4:44, was undoubtedly one of the albums of the year, garnering multiple Grammy nominations and showing the rapper in a more mature, emotional light than fans were accustomed to seeing him in. Now, Hov's latest musical achievement has inspired a new personal finance book that can help readers conquer other types of demons.

Ash Cash, a financial expert and author, has taken the lessons put forth on Jay's 4:44, on tracks like "The Story of OJ" and "Family Feud," and expanded upon them in a new book titled The Wake Up Call: Financial Inspiration Learned from 4:44 + A Step by Step Guide on How to Implement Each Financial Principle. The goal of the book is to "teach African-Americans how to manage money more effectively and how to build generational wealth," as Jigga puts it on "Legacy."

In an interview with HipHopDX, the author said that was incredibly drawn to the messages that the veteran rapper made it his duty to disseminate to the public on his latest record. "Jay was giving so much knowledge about how you can become financially free… as an individual, as well as how we [as a culture] can break the cycle of poverty in our community," he said. "Jay gave us the 'what.' My goal with the book was to give the 'how.'" It's reading material that will no doubt benefit hip-hop fans far and wide.

Ash's personal finance book can be purchased here. Is financial advice from Jay-Z something you'd take to heart? Let us know in the comments.
