Flying Lotus gives us a glimpse of how he and Thundercat collaborate.

Flying Lotus is always experimenting with his sound, most recently on his excellent 2014 album You’re Dead! We get a look at his creative process with the trio of tracks his released last night, which seem to be left on the cutting room floor from his last album. “NO Feeer Thunnderrrrcatt2010” features FlyLo’s frequent musical compatriot. Judging by the title, it’s possible this recording is older than 2014’s You’re Dead!

The track features mid-tempo boom-bap sounds, but with FlyLo’s expected twists. He throws in looped, rising synth samples over his drums while Thundercats carries the melody with his bass playing. The result is a groove that shows how the two might jam together in the studio.

Listen to another track with Thundercat, "Haleys line//thundercat."
