All I Wanted
Don Trip Feat. Young Dolph & Starlito
HOTTTTT
Don Trip and Starlito's Step Brothers projects are criminally underrated, and while it's been a while since they've teamed up for a full length, they've continued to collaborate here and there. Today, Trip and Lito have united once again on "All I Wanted," which comes off of Trip's upcoming The Head That Wears The Crown. Joining the frequent collaborators is Memphis "King" Young Dolph, who supplies a sticky hook that brings the whole track together.

Don Trip hasn't been on our radar for a minute now. His last song "Wake Up" was from the summer. Although the rapper was an XXL Freshmen back in 2012, he's one of the few rappers to really capitalize off it and get a much-needed push. Nonetheless, he's still working, and today pops back up with a new record called "Therapy", a guitar ballad featuring Singa Bromfield.

I'll be the first to confess that I've been sleeping on Don Trip. While I was familiar with the name and I'd come across a few tracks over the years, the market is always so saturated with new artists that it's difficult to filter out the ones that our truly worthwhile. "Wake Up" is my wake-up call. A punchline-driven hustler's anthem, the track finds Trip at the top of his lyrical hustle over a dark instrumental that would have sounded right at home on Young Jeezy's cinematic The Recession LP.

Don Trip Feat. Starlito

Don Trip and Starlito are a force to be reckoned with, as evidenced by last year's collaborative effort, Stepbrothers 2. The southern duo have come together once again, unfortunately only for one track on Trip's new Randy Savage mixtape. Naturally, it serves as a highlight, with Trip and 'Lito covering similar ground to their successful joint project, dropping equally insightful and punchline-ridden verses over contemplative trap instrumentals. Quotable lyrics:

HOTTTTT
Don Trip just dropped his Randy Savage mixtape, which pays tribute to the late wrestling legend, which many rappers (namely Lil Wayne) have referenced in the past. The project (his first since the criminally underrated Step Brothers 2 with Starlito) finds him mainly taking the reins solo, but "Still In The Trap," in which he raps alongside Juicy J serves as one of the projects early highlights.
