Who will be the next Captain America?

Chris Evans has completed his work as Captain America. For the last eight years, Evans wore the red, white, and blue costume and led the Avengers into epic battles. Avengers 4 is most likely the last time we'll see Evans in the suit on screen, which means fans are already speculating about who would be the new Captain. In the comics, several heroes take on the mantle of Captain America, including his two closest allies Falcon and Winter Soldier. Also, with the arrival of a new Captain to the MCU with Captain Marvel, fans are speculating that Brie Larson's Air Force pilot will step into the leading role. Frank Grillo, who played Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, recently added even more fuel to the speculation.

Grillo sat down on Larry King Now, and answered a range of questions regarding his career and the MCU. King asked Grillo if he's surprised that Evans is stepping down from the most lucrative role he's ever had, to which the actor answers "no." Of course, most MCU fans know that Evans has expressed eagerness to leave the MCU in the past. "That ran its course and those guys are all getting a bit old," continued Grillo before praising Evans. "Love him, he's a great guy. He's a Boston kid, he's a lovely man." Then, King moved in for the question everyone wanted to hear an answer to, "Who's going to be the next Captain America?"

"I don't know," began Grillo. "There have been rumors that Captain America could be African American. It could be a woman, you know? So they’re looking.”
